Biking to Discover What It Means to Be Green
Hello,
My name is David.
On August 15th I am going to begin a 450-mile bike ride to protest the BP oil spill and to discover what it means to be green.
I'm blogging about the whole experience at: http://www.bpBiker.com
Hopefully this information is of interest to you and your local community.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
David Vanadia

Family Picnic Ride This Sunday, 7/25, at noon & Longer Ride
All welcome on a picnic ride to Taylor Park in Millburn, leaving at noon from the NJ Transit Parking Lot at Maplewood Ave. & Baker. The ride is being mapped by SOMbike's Mapping Committee and will be an easy 3 miles. Lately, we have had as many kids as adults on our rides.

Cycling 201

Kirk Sohr and I are teaching a class with the Adult School, called Let's Ride. It assumes you already know how to ride. The class covers bike handling skills, what you need to know about riding in traffic, and some basic bike repair skills. Here is an article about it.

Next Family Ride: Maplewoodstock, July 11th, Noon, The Baird
Maybe you regret missing out on the original Woodstock. Maybe you've never attended Maplewoodstock or you've tried driving there and were hassled by the traffic. Now's your chance to take a leisurely ride with your neighbors and arrive in style. I promise not to hum, "...and we've got to get ourselves back to the gar-den..."
