so we had to cancel "Bike Commute To The Train Day" today...
but the towns have agreed to keep up the extra bike racks into next week, so hopefully, people will be inspired to ride to the train stations.
Meanwhile, Michael Gabriel's talk on "The History of Bike Racing In New Jersey" at the SO Public Library last night was well-attended and fascinating. Didn't realize how prominently this part of NJ figured in the history, not only of bike racing, but bike manufacturing, and of efforts to create a bike friendly community.
And hopefully, the SOMbike family ride from South Orange's Baird Center to May Fest in Maplewood this Sunday morning (5/22) at 1030 AM will roll out as planned. Riders will receive a goody bag from Fringe Salon.
We will have a free bike clinic at Fringe on Springfield Ave, in the heart of May Fest. We will also register your bike and give you a free helmet, courtesy of the Maplewood Police Dept.
See ya there, God willin' and the creek don't rise.
