The ground transportation at Newark airport like buses, taxis, shuttles, limousines can take you from airport to other airports, hotels, conferences or even from one end of the airport to the other. Families with lots of luggage may use the shuttle service but the people who want to travel with style and comfort and want a peaceful travel they should opt for limousines.

Wow! This was done so perfectly wrong I couldn't have predicted it better. I bet cyclists going to a Trader Joe's in Austin, Seattle or Phoenix wouldn't have to ask for bicycle parking and it wouldn't be substandard junk like this!

I am not familiar with the Maplewood Station but I'm assuming that the bike lockers are not getting used, otherwise removing them would be unfair to the current renters of those lockers. If the new bicycle parking is unsheltered then this sounds like a bad bargain as bicycle parking at transit stations should be in a sheltered and convenient location like that at the South Orange Station (BART, 2002. APBP, 2009).

This article is VERY BAD for cycling. It simply screams "CYCLING WILL KILL YOU!!!" It even equates it with smoking for Pete's sake!

I'm not against the use of cycling helmets but riding a bike is not a dangerous, deadly activity as the manipulators of statistic would have you believe. From what I've observed, most deadly bicycle crashes involve an automobile and a crash injury for which a bicycle helmet is of little use. What makes cycling somewhat hazardous in this country are our homicidal drivers, a lacking infrastructure for bicyclists and unsafe bicycle operation by the cyclists themselves. The best way to avoid a brain injury is to avoid the crash in the first place (no mention in the article about using a light at night).

If the Brain Injury people really want to make a real impact in reducing brain injuries, they should help to reduce bicycle crashes on these fronts. They also need to stop being hypocrites and start to advocate for the use of helmets in the daily activity that causes the most brain injuries in the US. That activity is driving in an automobile!

I saw a comment here about helmets. I don't know where it is now, but I'll respond anyway.

The commentator said that we should know better than to ride without proper helmets.

All I can say is that I debated this in my mind. I'm not proud of my decision, because I do feel I ought to set a good example. The good news, though, is that no one got hurt. Maybe that's bad news, because it can give the idea that a helmet isn't necessary. On all other 364 days of the year, I wear a helmet, and I recommend helmets to everyone else, too.

A woman named Sheryl is making stylish helmets that look like hats, not helmets. Watch for them as they become available. I didn't get her contact information.

deleting comments? really? I'll try again: i enjoyed the sight of the tweed riders coming down So. Orange Ave., but was disappointed to see many wearing traditional head gear rather than something to protect their cranium/brain. a bike advocacy group should know better.
