

Is your bike gathering dust in the garage? Are you new to suburban cycling? LET'S RIDE!, co-sponsored by the South Orange/Maplewood Bicycle Coalition (SOMbike.com), will help you get to know your bike, learn basic repairs and adjustments, and ride safely and confidently in traffic.

Course content will include:
- Adjusting your bike and helmet for a comfortable fit.
- Performing a safety inspection of your bike to make sure everything is working properly
- Understanding traffic principles and bicyclists' rights and responsibilities on the road
- Fixing a flat tire
- Using your gear system
- Locking your bike
- Bike handling drills
Instructors:
TOM REINGOLD is an avid cyclist. He repairs and refurbishes bikes in his home. He spent years living car-free in Boston and New York, relying only on his bicycle. He is often called the “Go To Bike Guy.”

KIRK SOHR is a certified cycling instructor from the League of American Bicyclists. He is on Maplewood's Transportation Committee. Tom and Kirk are both active in SOMbike.
